研究兴趣 |
新奇量子材料—理论与模拟课题组主要研究由电子、自旋、自旋-轨道耦合及多粒子集体激发行为所导致的新奇量子现象。通过理论计算与模拟,我们希望能够找到复杂现象背后简单而深邃的物理机制,进而从理论上预言更多、性能更加优异的量子材料,同时为更有效的理解实验上观察到的物理现象提供有力的理论支持。 课题组的主要研究方向包括: 1.电子强关联效应导致的自发对称破缺、金属-绝缘体相变、非传统磁性等物理现象和材料; 由电子库仑相互作用引发的金属-绝缘体相变是凝聚态物理学中的一个重要概念。课题组结合第一性原理和动力学平均场(包括动力学平均场的多种非局域扩展方法)重点研究强关联材料的电子和磁性性质。欢迎对电子强关联材料理论研究感兴趣的同学报考课题组。 2.由自旋-轨道耦合,对称性保护导致的非平庸能带兼并和反转,以及由此产生的拓扑绝缘体,Dirac和Weyl半金属等新型量子材料。 量子拓扑材料是超越传统金属-绝缘体分类的一种新的物质状态。这一类材料的体态有和绝缘体类似的性质,电子的费米面位于导带和价带中间。但在它们的表面/边界上存在特殊的量子态,允许电子通过这些态穿过费米面。量子拓扑材料的研究是物理学近年来的重要科学前沿之一。课题组结合第一性原理计算方法和能带拓扑分析,以预言新材料和解释实验为主要研究目标,近年来在研究二维宽禁带量子霍尔效应绝缘体,三维拓扑绝缘体和Dirac半金属上取得了一系列成果。欢迎对拓扑量子态和第一性原理计算感兴趣的同学报考课题组。 3.量子多体理论的研究与扩展。 准确描述电子强关联材料是凝聚态理论物理的一个难点,发展高效准确的量子多体方法一直是凝聚态理论领域中的研究热点。课题组在多个不同的量子多体方法上均有深入研究,利用费曼图微扰展开发展出了一套能够同时描述电子局域相互作用和非局域涨落的理论方法。目前课题组已经开发的量子多体程序库中包括:动力学平均场(DMFT),动力学团簇方法(dynamical cluster approach),实空间团簇动力学平均场(cluster DMFT),对偶费米子方法(dual-fermion),parquet方法;连续时间蒙特卡洛(including both hybridization-expansion and interaction-expansion flavors)。欢迎对量子多体方法和数值模拟感兴趣的同学报考课题组。 |

《计算物理》:
计算物理学作为现代物理学的一个分支,是与理论物理,实验物理并列的一个重要学科。它借助现代计算机的强大浮点运算能力,将常规方法无法解决的复杂物理问题利用数值计算方法模拟求解。计算物理学因而是一门多学科交叉的理论,它涵盖了物理,应用数学以及计算机科学。计算物理明显不同于计算机科学,在计算物理中计算机技术仅仅是解决物理问题的手段。计算物理学因其最终的研究对象是复杂的物理系统和现象,决定了它的主要研究内容是针对具体物理问题设计合适的计算方法。因其展示出的强大解释甚至预言能力,计算物理学方法在物理学的几乎每一个分支上都有广泛的应用,比如经典物理,量子物理,统计物理,凝聚态物理,粒子物理,天体物理等等。
《计算物理学》课程将介绍一些常用的计算物理方法,着重于培养学生建立从实际物理问题出发抽象出具体模型,并设计相应的数学方法直至编写程序解决问题的科学素养。本课程虽然不局限于任何具体的计算机语言,课程中涉及到的例子将主要用Fortran 2003语言来讲解。本课程主要由10周理论课程和5周上机实践课程组成。内容涵盖量子力学、固体物理和统计物理三个主要方向,具体包括一维谐振子、中心势场中的氢原子的薛定谔方程求解,密度泛函理论基础、大规模并行计算编程及自旋相互作用体系的蒙特卡洛模拟等。
《量子场论》:
《量子场论》将介绍描述凝聚态量子多体系统基态和低能激发态的有效理论工具-量子场理论。课程着重向学生传递基本概念,帮助学生了解和掌握相关文献中的基本知识点。这门课需要所选者预先掌握量子力学和量子统计力学。课程从二次量子化出发,利用相干态重新描述适用于包括玻色子、自旋、费米子等多粒子体系的量子力学框架。利用传播子的路径积分表述,通过格林函数的微扰理论建立多粒子体系对于外界扰动的单粒子/多粒子响应与实验上的常见可观测量之间的关系。作为多粒子体系自发对称破缺的一个例子,在本门课的结尾我们会介绍描述超导现象的BCS理论和Nambu格林函数方法。
在强关联理论的重要方法——动力学平均场方法诞生30周年之际,李刚教授撰写了一系列回顾动力学平均场从建立到目前最新前沿的综述文章,全文在公众号《知社学术圈》刊载。
